Chukars sending four players to All Star Game

The Idaho Falls Chukars will be well represented at the 2018 Pioneer League vs. Northwest League All Star Game next week in Grand Junction.

Infielders Nate Eaton, Reed Rohlman and pitchers J.C. Cloney and Robert Garcia were named all stars Wednesday.

Rohlman, Eaton and Cloney will start the all star game for the Pioneer League.

Eaton is listed as a catcher on the roster and has yet to play a game there, he has played a bulk of his time at 2nd and 3rd base with a short stint in the outfield.

He was drafted in the 21st round by the Kansas City Royals in the 2018 draft and leads the Pioneer League with 8 triples and is hitting .338 on the season.

Rohlman has primarily played first base and is hitting .359 and leads the league with 47 RBI’s.

The smooth swinging lefty leads the league with 16 doubles.

He was drafted in the 35th round of the 2017 draft.

J.C. Cloney leads the league in wins and has won all 8 of his starts to go with a 2.16 ERA. He has struck out 45 batters in 50 innings walking only 9. He struck out a season high 11 batters on opening night.

Garcia is in his second season with the Chukars, and has been solid out of the pen for the grey birds.

Batters are hitting only .231 against the lefty.

Garcia improved his ERA of 10.65 from last year to 1.61 this year.

The All Star game will take place August 7th.

Chukars will face the Grand Junction Rockies for four games before the All Star Break from August 2nd to August 5th.
