War Bonnet kicks off rodeo with party

It’s time for Idaho’s oldest rodeo, The War Bonnet Round Up! It has been held every year during the first weekend in August, and this is the rodeo’s 107th year.

Wednesday is the beginning of the festivities, with the Rodeo Kick-Off Party.

There will be face painting, horse drawn trolley’s, bull riding, rodeo clowns and more.

All families are invited to the party, with most of these events being free.

Thursday, the “TitleOne Rodeo Celebration” will have their event at 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. where people can meet some rodeo royalty and clowns. That will be located at the TitleOne Corporation building at 1614 Elk Creek Drive in Idaho Falls.

The rodeo starts Thursday, August 2, at the Bank of Idaho Arena at Sandy Downs. Gates open at 5 p.m., with the main events starting at 8 p.m. until 11 p.m.

The rodeo will continue until August 4.

Tickets for adults on Thursday and Friday are $20, while tickets for children ages 3-10 are $5. Saturday tickets for adults are $25, and tickets for children ages 3-10 are $10.
