UPDATE: Big Horse fire 100% contained

UPDATE 8/05/2018 2:30 p.m.: The Big Horse Fire is now at 100 percent containment as of 8:40 a.m Sunday morning.

Crews are hoping for full control by Monday night around 10:00 p.m.

UPDATE 8/04/2018 9:45 p.m.: The Big Horse Fire burning in Bannock County has grown to more than 1,200 acres and is now 75% contained.

Crews hope to have it 100% contained by 6:00 p.m. Sunday night.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Fire crews from the Bureau of Land Management and other fire crews are fighting a wildfire burning in Bannock County.

The Big Horse Fire was reported around 3:15 p.m. Saturday and is burning Northeast of Pocatello along the border with the Fort Hall Reservation.

BLM says the fire started on private land but the cause is under investigation.

The fire has burned around 400 acres but is very active.

BLM resource on the fire includes ground and air attack crews.

There are no structures threatened and no closures have been issued due to this fire.
