Steamboat Geyser erupts 13th time in 2018

The Steamboat Geyser in Yellowstone National Park erupted for the 13th time in 2018 on Friday.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the geyser erupted at 2:10 p.m. and had a 32 minute water phase.

Stephanie Coffman captured the video above about 20 hours later while the geyser was in the steam phase.

USGS said the geyser has decided to follow a semi-regular pattern of erupting every 6-8 days over the past two months; however, it has been 14 days 15 hours 34 minutes since the last eruption on July 20.
