Local girl’swish to become police officer is granted

8-year-old Brooke Koehler’s wish came true Thursday.Brooke is currently facing some medical challenges, but that didn’t stop her from reaching her goal of becoming a police officer.

Chubbuck Mayor Kevin England and several Chubbuck Police Department members sworn Brooke in as an Officer for the Day first thing Thursday morning.

After Officer Koehler was issued her uniform and took her oath, she celebrated with some of her fellow officers with a chocolate doughnut.
Officer Koehler then spent some time in the Records Division where she had some practice with fingerprinting.
Officer Koehler also spent some time with the Crime Scene Analysts where she was able to dust for fingerprints to determine who committed a theft of a large amount of candy. She was successful in her investigation and was able to determine who the suspect was.

After she conducted a traffic stop and a citation was issued, it was time for lunch.
With the help of Chubbuck McDonald’s, Officer Koehler and her family were able to enjoy lunch topped off with an ice cream cone.

Officer Koehler’s special day was made possible thanks to Sergeant Conlin.
