Teton firefighters make progress on Fire Trail fire
After more accurate GPS mapping, the Fire Trail fire is now estimated at 30 acres. It is about 60 percent contained.
The fire started as the result of an ATV accident Saturday about 5 miles south of Alpine, Wyoming.
Crews are looking for hot spots outside the fire line and mopping up within the interior. Although windy conditions may test them, firefighters said Tuesday’s operations were very successful.
There are two 20-person hand crews, 3 helicopters, a total of 8 engines and the 12-person Teton Fire module crew. The Greys River Ranger District has closed the Squaw-Murphy road and Sqaw Flat dispersed camping area.
