U of I’s athletic director fired amid reports of sexual misconduct

The Athletic Director at the University of Idaho will now have to look for a new job.

The State Board of Education met today at Idaho State University to officially fire Dr. Rob Spears.

This came amid reports of sexual misconduct allegations that resurfaced between 2012 and 2013. An independent report commissioned by the university also identified a number of ways that the university failed to address those allegations.

In a statement put out today, “The investigators concluded that the University failed to provide proper notice and education to the University community of significant changes to its policies regarding sexual misconduct.”
