Soda Springs playground needs community’s help to win $25,000
The commUNITY playground in Soda Springs is asking for the community’s help to bring home a $25,000 grant.
The playground is one of 200 finalists in the State Farm Neighborhood Assist grant program. It is the only finalist from Idaho in the running.
Friends of the Soda Springs City Park said Idaho is often underserved when it comes to receiving national grants.
There are 40 available $25,000 grants available through the State Farm program and the playground hopes to get one of them.
The commUNITY playground recently finished its building process and held a ribbon cutting. But the playground still has some funds to raise to finish covering the cost of the entire project. Laura Lind, general coordinator for Friends of the Soda Springs City Park, said they still need to raise $65,000 of the $100,000 for the added splash pad to go with the playground.
The commUNITY playground is an ADA accessible playground and splash pad that will allow people of all ages and abilities to have somewhere to play in the community.
