Business owner speaks out after purchased ads were never published
A settlement agreement was reached with the owners of Idaho Life, an Idaho Falls-based magazine company. This comes after small businesses paid money for ads and did not receive them.
The settlement requires Gary and Sharon Mueller to pay more than $8,000 in refunds.
But not everyone affected was involved in the lawsuit.
The owner of Shaddow Domain in downtown Idaho Falls says she also paid for ad space. After making payments for the ad for months, once the payments were done she never heard from the company again.
When she finally found out about the lawsuit, it was too late. She says she still cannot believe this happened.
“Well, I’ve never had that happen to me before, it was disheartening to not get any reaction from them. If they would have even worked with me or talked to me I would have felt a lot differently about it but there was nothing,” says Julie Oliver, owner of Shaddow Domain.
Oliver says she hopes to someday get her money back.
The settlement also prohibits the Muellers from selling advertisement to Idaho consumers.
