Preston police working with Utah law enforcement after gunshot victim dies at hospital
Preston City police are working with law enforcement in Utah after a man died in the Preston hospital Thursday morning.
Preston Police Chief Mike Peterson said officers were called to the Franklin County Medical Center around 7 a.m. Thursday morning for a 26-year-old man with a gunshot wound.
Peterson said officers found out the man had been brought in by friends after some sort of disagreement, which led to a shooting.
Peterson said the shooting happened in Layton, Utah. The man died shortly after arriving at FCMC.
Peterson said they do not believe there is any connection to Preston City or Franklin County.
The shooting investigation is now being handled by the Layton City Police Department.
