Idaho gas prices nearly 45 cents higher than last year

Gasoline prices in Idaho have fallen 0.8 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.12 per gallon Sunday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 802 stations in Idaho.

This compares with the national average that has increased 2.2 cents per gallon versus last week to $2.91 per gallon, according to GasBuddy.

Average gasoline prices on October 8 in Idaho have ranged widely over the last five years:

$2.68/g in 2017 $2.39/g in 2016 $2.54/g in 2015 $3.51/g in 2014 $3.69/g in 2013

Including the change locally during the past week, prices Sunday were 44.2 cents per gallon higher than a year ago and are 7.6 cents per gallon lower than a month ago.

The national average has increased 6.0 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 43.7 cents per gallon higher than a year ago.

Areas near Idaho and their current gas price climate:

Montana- $3.00/g, up 1.7 cents per gallon from last week’s $2.99/g. Boise- $3.05/g, down 4.6 cents per gallon from last week’s $3.10/g. Spokane- $3.28/g, up 3.0 cents per gallon from last week’s $3.25/g.
