Wanted suspect now in custody

Bonneville County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested Jason F. White, 41, of Freedom, Wyoming without incident after a night-long manhunt.

White was arrested around 6:15 a.m. Tuesday in the area of 60th East and Sunnyside Road after someone reported a suspicious male hitch-hiking.

White was subject of a search that began Monday evening on the Kepps Crossing Road near Willow Creek. He was running away from an Idaho State Police trooper.

White crashed his vehicle on the Kepps Crossing Road and ran away. He apparently walked all night to the point he was spotted by a passing motorist.

SWAT Units from the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office and Idaho Falls Police, along with officers from Idaho State Police, Idaho Department of Fish and Game and Forest Service Law Enforcement also assisted in the overnight search.

White was booked into the Bonneville County jail for two warrants out of Lincoln County Wyoming. He was wanted for probation violations on previous convictions of Domestic Violence and Attempted Strangulation.

Additional charges, relating to the pursuit involving Idaho State Police, are pending.
