First White Cane Blindness Awareness banquet
A milestone was announced for the blind community over the weekend.
The Snake River Valley Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind of Idaho held its first White Cane Blindness Awareness banquet.
Idaho Falls Mayor Rebecca Casper declared Oct. 15 will be white cane awareness day in Idaho Falls.
Ammon Mayor Sean Colletti was also in attendance.
White Cane is an organization that helps give voice to the blind.
They are hoping this banquet will become a yearly event.
