Malad Elementary closed tomorrow
The Oneida County School District says Malad Elementary school is closed Thursday, and classes will resume on Friday.
According to school district Superintendent, Dr. Rich Moore, a motor in the heater malfunctioned which caused it to run on the lowest setting.
School staff didn’t realize that there was a problem until classes started.
As of noon, temperatures in the classroom were around 62 to 65 degrees.
The school district sent out an email to parents which said that they were allowed to pick up their children.
60 out of 400 students were checked out.
