Idaho State University hosts robotics competition

Engineering wizards geared up Friday at Idaho State University to claim bragging rights of best robot in the region.

24 teams from the gem state competed in the Vex Robotics Competition, hosted by the I-S-U College of Robotics, engineering and communication.

Teams of high school students are challenged with designing and building a robot to play against other teams in a game-based engineering challenge.

The competition was intense with several teams claiming top prizes.

The event was a regional competition.

The winners go on to a state competition then nationals, and if they continue to win, world finals.
