Cal Ranch hosts fundraiser to fight hunger

The Cal Ranch store in Chubbuck had a busy day Saturday.

It was the 12th annual “Sportsmen Against Hunger” fundraiser.

Proceeds of the event went towards the Idaho Food Bank, all by playing a game of cornhole.

Prizes for top scorers included an AR-15 rifle, fly fishing outfits, coolers, and artwork.

Various community and sporting groups contributed to the event with a goal of raising more than 25 hundred dollars to the food bank.

“A group of us years and years ago decided we wanted to do something to help the community and we came up with this idea and put it together,” says J.D. Johnston, a volunteer for Sportsmen Against Hunger, “Cal Ranch is great and they stepped up several years to support us and they’ve continued to support us and they amaze us each year with their support.”

The Sportsmen Against Hunger fundraiser has riased more than 25 thousand dollars every year since they started the event.
