BYU-Idaho enrollment continues expansion

Brigham Young University-Idaho is reporting increases in both on-campus and online students for the Winter 2019 semester.

According to the university, 19,235 students are on campus this semester, an increase of 2.9% from last winter. There are 4,463 campus-based students taking online courses or fulfilling internships away from campus. The online courses have allowed enrollment growth without requiring students to be on campus.

Online enrollment is continuing to grow rapidly. The number of online students this winter is 13,019, an increase of 13.1 percent over last year’s enrollment.

The university credits its continued growth in enrollment to a unique educational emphasis. That includes the focus of faculty, the common values of other students, the university’s focus on real-world preparation, and an overall experience that is student-focused.

By the numbers, the on-campus student body consists of 10,137 male (53%) and 9,098 female students (47%). There are 4,995 married students, comprising 26% percent of the total.
