Jackson startup wins “Kickstart…” grant

A Jackson “startup” company has been awarded a $50,000 Wyoming Business Council “kickstart” award.

Iksplor is a Jackson apparel designer that creates multi-season, essential layers for babies and children. The company focuses on the outdoor consumer market.

Their product line includes a swaddle, long-sleeve shirt, pant, neck warmer and hat all made of Merino wool.

Iksplor plans to use its funding to expand its Wyoming footprint and hire a part-time employee.

“Kickstart:Wyoming” is a Wyoming Business Council program that provides grants to startup companies with a globally unique product or service, fewer than 50 employees, and a scalable business plan that targes a massive audience.

According to its website, Iksplor was created by Karissa Akin, her sister, Kailey Gleck and mother, Barb Tuthill to create a high quality, children’s fashion clothing line.

The company projects a pre-sales launch early this year. You can learn more about the company here.
