Bannock County to hold first community engagement meeting in Downey

As part of a new plan to get the public involved, Bannock County’s elected officials will be holding a community engagement meeting in a different city on the last Thursday of each month.

The first meeting will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in Downey, at the Marsh Valley Senior Citizen Center.

At these open discussions, the County Commissioners, Prosecutor and Sheriff, among others, will be available for question.

These “agenda-free” meetings will allow residents of Bannock County to voice their questions, comments and concerns about their city and the county to those elected to serve them.

After Thursday, the group will meet in Arimo on March 28 and plans to travel to Lava Hot Spring, McCammon, Inkom and Fort Hall in the months to follow.
