Ammon starts third leg of fiber optic service
Ammon has begun construction of a new Fiber Optic line under its third local improvement district.
The city says L.I.D. #3 will pass 511 homes. The city estimates over 300 of them will connect to the Ammon fiber optic system. The final cost is estimated at around $3,300 per home at a total estimated cost of close to $1 million.
Ammon Fiber was recently named the Consumer Product of the Year at the Idaho Technology Council’s 2018 Idaho Innovation Awards.
“We are building out fiber to the home faster and better than we have ever done before,” says Mayor Sean Coletti. “We will nearly double our construction speed this year over last.”
