Bonneville County high schools put on open house for possible renovations
Interested in taking a look at what goes on inside an eastern Idaho school? Bonneville School District 93 is inviting the public to open houses for two of its schools.
Both Bonneville and Hillcrest high schools will be hosting an open house Wednesday and Thursday evenings.
They are chances for the public to explore the buildings and science classrooms at the schools, as well as to hear a presentation of the proposed additions
The open houses also will be opportunities for the public to ask questions of the school staff, as well as the design and construction team.
“(Bonneville High School) was built and open in 1978 and the facilities look like they were built in 1978,” said Heath Jackson, the school’s principal. “We want to encourage STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) careers and opportunities for out students. We want to improve the opportunity they have in a classroom of hands-on interactive lab space to learn more about those skills and attributes.”
The district strongly encourages members of the public to attend so they can take a look for themselves at what needs to be updated and share their feedback.
The open houses are 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. both Wednesday and Thursday.
