Pocatello man charged with kidnapping
A Pocatello man faces possible felony charges after an incident Monday.
Pocatello Police said Scott Henry Poppleton, 30, picked up a child from an elementary school without the permission of the parent or the school. Police said Poppleton was known to the student, but parents had removed his authority to pick up the student.
He was also found to be in possession of a stolen vehicle.
Poppleton was arrested without incident at 3200 Goldfield shortly after 1 p.m. He was initially charged with second-degree kidnapping, no ransom and possession of a stolen vehicle.
