Police warn of counterfeit bills going around

Blackfoot Police is warning people of several counterfeit bills going around over the last week.

The Federal Reserve Board issues $1, $2, $5, $10, $20, $50 and $100 notes.

All the notes, outside of the 1 and 2 dollar notes, have been updated within the last 10 years.

Every note has their own watermarks to look for in different locations, but some share the same.

For example, you can take a $10 note or higher, and use the bottom right corner on the front of the note. The dollar value may switch from copper to green when tilting the note in the light.

Others have hidden watermarks of the men printed on the notes.

They do not all have the same watermarks printed on the notes, so it is important to check those features.

If you do have a counterfeit, you should report it to police immediately.
