Be wary of low cost rental properties

If you run across a surprisingly good real estate rental in Jackson, be careful.

That’s advice from the Teton County, Wyoming Sheriff’s Office. The office has received several reports of fraudulent ads for rental properties in the Jackson area on Craig’s List.

Officers said the ads were conspicuous because of the low rents that were listed. The Sheriff’s Office advises people to use caution in responding to Craig’s List ads for rental property.

Avoid wiring any advance deposits. They said it is a common scam in resort communities.

If the rent is too low to believe, they said, it probably is a scam.
