Eastern Idaho team takes first place in robotics competition

Teams from across the country competed in the Idaho FIRST Robotics Competition Regional in Nampa this past weekend.

The AmmoKnights won the Idaho FRC Regional.

The Ammon-based team was the regional winner. Alongside the team in taking home the top prize were The Millennium Falcons from San Diego and Gryffinger Robotics from Palmdale, California.

The AmmoKnights will now compete at worlds in Houston in three weeks. The robotics team is asking for help getting there.

The team is asking for any donations. It can be money, spare parts or even time mentoring the students.

“It’s given me skills that I’ll need in life and it helps with mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, future careers,” said Kellie Stanger, the captain of the AmmoKnights.

You can donate in 3 ways.

Write a check to Technical Careers High School-Robotics and give it to the student who solicited the donation. Donate directly to the account at the school office, 3609 N Ammon Rd, Idaho Falls, ID 83401 or call (208) 525-4433. Ask to speak to Stephanie. Donate through the Bonneville Education Foundation.
