Cleanup Project to cut 190 jobs
Fluor Idaho, LLC told employees Monday that a workforce restructuring action involving the Idaho Cleanup Project has been ordered. It will consist of a self-select voluntary separation program and an involuntary program, if needed.
Fluor Idaho expects to reduce the workforce by 190 positions in Fiscal Year 2019. Those cuts would primarily come from the workforce that supports the Advanced Mixed Waste Treatment Project mission. The number involuntarily separated will depend on the number of workers accepted in the voluntary program.
According to a news release, the restructuring will occur in two phases related to work completion and realignment activities. Each phase will include a self-select voluntary separation program followed by an involuntary program, if necessary.
According to Fluor Idaho, the company hopes to retrain, reassign and help place affected employees in new positions where possible.
