Gov. Little touts accomplishments of first 100 days
Idaho Gov. Brad Little says his first 100 days have gone by fast, but they’ve been filled with significant accomplishments.
Little on Wednesday held a news conference touting legislation that he signed into law from the legislative session that wrapped up last week.
He says among his top accomplishments are increasing starting teacher pay to $40,000, doubling funding for literacy programs and increasing scholarships for students preparing for college.
Also high on his list was paying for Medicaid expansion.
Another is an executive order requiring state agencies to eliminate or scale back two rules for every new one.
Not noted among large signs at the news conference listing achievements was one of his most significant actions – vetoing legislation making it much tougher to get an initiative or referendum on the ballot.
