Fremont deputies pull buses from the mud

Two school buses, carrying Shelley 8th grade students, got stuck in the mud on a field trip to the Fremont County Civil Defense Caves Tuesday.

The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office was called to Red Road at around 12:15 p.m. Their first order of business was to establish communication in the remote area with Shelley bus supervisors.

Officers ultimately used the Sand Dunes Humvees to pull the buses out of the mud. The second bus was pulled out shortly before 3 p.m. and both headed back to Shelley.
