Blackfoot animal sanctuary seeks to rescue farm animals
One Blackfoot group is starting an animal sanctuary for rescued farm animals.
Funny Farm Animal Sanctuary currently has four pigs, 16 cats, six dogs, two roosters, a sheep and a goat. Its employees are passionate about saving animals, but their work comes with a price. There are only two animal sanctuaries in the state, so Funny Farm needs to expand to meet a growing need.
Marissa Pain, a member of the Funny Farm Animal Sanctuary, says volunteering could be an educational experience. “This is a great project for our community. I think it’s going to benefit the community because it’s educational. They can meet the animals, they can be a part of something that’s helping the animals,” Pain said.
