IF Barnes & Noble; celebrates 2 milestones
Barnes & Noble bookstores across the county are celebrating youth reading.
On Sunday morning, local young readers gathered at the Barnes & Noble store in Idaho Falls to take part in a special storytime reading.
For nearly 30 years, Barnes & Noble bookstores everywhere have shared the love of reading with America’s youth.
This weekend, the bookstore reached a milestone of 1 million stories shared.
John Radford, store manager at the Idaho Falls Barnes & Noble bookstore, said: ” It’s pretty amazing. Just think about the impact that has had and all the readers that have been created across the county from our storytime . A million times, we have gotten together with little kids and enjoy the reading. The most important thing is that more kids are exposed to more books, and that’s really what’s this is all about. ”
The Idaho Falls store stands out from the other Barnes & Noble locations by reaching a secondary milestone.
This weekend, the store has reached 1 million books donated to local schools, charities and youth programs in the community.
Radford said: ” It’s so important what kids gather from being read to. It’s so fun for them to feel the magic of a book and to escape the realities that are around them. ”
