Firefighters ask for your help to ‘Fill the Boot’

The Idaho Falls Fire Department will be carrying around a boot at the intersection of Hitt Road & 17th Street as part of the Fill the Boot campaign this Friday and Saturday.

The event raises money for kids, adults and families fighting muscular diseases by finding research breakthroughs, caring for people and empowering families with services and support across America.

Have some cash ready, slow down and use caution as firefighters collect money at the intersection.

“This is an important fundraiser to help families continue the fight against life-threatening diseases,” Fire Chief Duane Nelson said. “We would appreciate donations in any amount. If you choose not to donate, please be courteous to those that do and to the firefighters helping out.”

Last year, the fire department raised more than $25,000.

Firefighters will be at the intersection from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
