Alpine treatment center clears first hurdle

The Wyoming Business Council has recommended approval of a wastewater treatment center in Alpine.

The town requested a $2,300,370 grant to help pay for a modular wastewater pretreatment system and sludge handling facility at its wastewater treatment plant. The system will have the ability to accommodate current and future organic waste loads from the Melvin Brewery, as well as other future commercial and industrial developments.

The grant was recommended for approval by the Council’s Board of Directors last week. It will go to the full Business Council for final approval in October.
