With a timely theme, Pocatello businesses clear trash from Alvin Ricken Drive

In commemoration of the storming of Area 51, local businesses in Pocatello stormed Alvin Ricken Drive to clean up trash from the road.

Southeastern Idaho Public Health hosted the event. Officials called it “cleaning up after the aliens.” Groups from On-Semiconductor joined their efforts as well as other local businesses.

“We wanted to have fun with it. So we decided to have some fun but also try to do something positive for the community,” said Devin Hughes, program manager for Public Health Preparedness.
Fortunately, there wasn’t a lot of trash, but the groups hope their initiative to keep streets cleaner will catch on.
