Teens fighting for their lives after high speed rollover

Five teens were taken to the hospital after a single car rollover last night.

The accident happened at about 10:15 Saturday night on East Lincoln road in the foothill area of rural Bonneville County.

The Bonneville County Sheriff’s office says two girls and three boys were driving Toyota at a high rate of speed over the hilly and windy roads in the area.

The teens lost control of the car and it swerved off the road and rolled several times.

Two girls were not wearing seatbelts at the time. They were ejected from the car and suffered life threatening injuries.

They were taken by ambulance to EIRMC. Another boy who was not wearing a seatbelt was also taken to the hospital in an ambulance. The two other boys in the car were wearing seatbelts they suffered minor injuries. They were taken to the hospital in private cars.

We talked with Sgt. Bryan Lovell of the Bonneville County Sheriff’s office on the scene last night, he said that the car was traveling at an extreme rate of speed when the crash happened.

Citations in the accident are pending.
