City of Ammon holding bonfire to dispose of live Christmas trees
AMMON, Idaho (KIFI) - Christmas has come and gone, and some people have already started taking down their holiday decorations.
They might be wondering what to do with their live Christmas trees.
The City of Ammon is holding its annual Icy Inferno Christmas Tree Bonfire in January, and the City will need fuel for the fire. Starting Dec. 26, live trees can be dropped off at Williams and Targhee on the far west side of McCowin Park.
Trees must have their decorations removed before they can be dropped off.
The Icy Inferno will be held at McCowin Park on Jan. 20 at 6:00 p.m. There will be music, vendors, fireworks and more.
The fire department will be on the scene to make sure the bonfire does not get out of hand.
“They've assured us they can handle however big the pile gets,” said City of Ammon Recreation Director Randal Miller. “We look forward to a big bonfire with a big pile of trees.”
