Olympian Bode Miller pleads not guilty to misdemeanor drug charges

FREMONT SHERIFF'S OFFICE

ST ANTHONY, Idaho (KIFI) — Olympic gold medalist Bode Miller has pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor drug possession charges filed in Fremont County.

According to court records, attorney Jeromy W. Stafford entered a notice of appearance on behalf of Miller on June 11 and filed a not guilty plea to the charges.

Court documents show Miller is charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia stemming from an incident on June 6.

Fremont County Sheriff's deputy alleged Miller was in possession of approximately 4.1 grams of psilocybin mushrooms. The affidavit states Miller was taken into custody and later charged.

Court records indicate Miller has posted a $5,000 cash bond and retained private counsel.

A pretrial conference is expected to be scheduled in the case.

The case remains pending. A not guilty plea is not a determination of guilt, and Miller is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
