Avalanche danger rated high in Island Park region

ISLAND PARK, Idaho (KIFI) - Fremont County Emergency Management reports more than three feet of snow has fallen outside Island Park since Sunday, and the Gallatin National Forest Avalanche Center is continuing the avalanche warning for this area since very dangerous avalanche conditions exist.

The avalanche danger is rated high on all slopes.

Avalanches can be triggered from low on the slope and from adjacent slopes far away. Fremont County Emergency Management said do not get on or underneath steep slopes.
