Woodtick Fire grows to 1,814 acres
LEMHI COUNTY, Idaho (KIFI) - The lightning caused Woodtick Fire burning in the Salmon Challis National Forest saw a small amount of growth in the last 24 hours growing by about 40 acres.
The fire has now burned 1,814 acres.
No estimated on containment has been given.
Firefighters assigned to this fire focused on structure protection near the fire as the fire is burning in an area that is too dangerous for crews to get to.
Temporary Flight Restrictions
A Temporary Flight Restriction went into effect surrounding the fire area today. The Woodtick fire wants to remind everyone not to fly recreational drones in the fire area. If you fly, then we can’t! The forest is asking visitors to be aware of the EXTREME fire danger for the Salmon-Challis National Forest. Forest officials are asking the public to be extremely careful when recreating on the Forest. We can all make a difference in reducing human-caused fires during this season.

The Salmon‐Challis National Forest has implemented the Woodtick Fire Emergency Area, Road, and Trail Closure, Order Number: 04‐13‐22‐506.
Description of Closed Area, Roads, and Trails (#04-13-22-506):
Described Area: All NFS lands on the Middle Fork Ranger District of the Salmon-Challis National Forest in the area bounded at the junction of the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness boundary (FCRONR) and National Forest System Trail (NFST) #4128 West Fork of Camas Creek Trail, then following NFST #4128 West Fork of Camas Creek Trail to NFST #4132 Woodtick Ridge Trail, then following NFST #4132 Woodtick Ridge Trail to NFST #6044 Middle Fork River Trail, then following NFST #6044 Middle Fork River Trail to the FCRONR boundary, then following the FCRONR boundary south to the point of origin at the junction of the FCRONR boundary and NFST #4128 West Fork of Camas Creek Trail.
Described Roads and Trails:
All NFS roads (NFSR) and trails (NFST) within the Closed Area.
The entire length of NFSR #108 Silver Creek Road.

The purpose of this order is to protect public health and safety from the effects of the Woodtick Fire.
This Order will be in effect when signed and shall remain in effect until rescinded.
