Degraded Air Quality and Burn Ban lifted for Custer and Lemhi counties
LEMHI COUNTY, Idaho (KIFI) - UPDATE 9/15/22: The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality has lifted an Air Quality Advisory and Burn Ban for Custer Lemhi counties.
The air quality is forecast to improve, and the improved conditions allow for open burning to resume.
UPDATE 9/13/22: The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality has extended an Air Quality Advisory and Burn Ban for Custer Lemhi counties.
The Air Quality Index is forecast to be Unhealthy until Thursday at 3 p.m.

The degraded air quality is due to wildfire smoke.
The Air Quality Index is forecast to be Unhealthy until Tuesday at 3 p.m.
Some members of the general public may experience health effects; members of sensitive groups may experience more serious health effects.
Air pollutants can cause breathing difficulties for children, the elderly, as well as persons with respiratory problems. Those individuals who are sensitive to increased particulate matter or smoke are encouraged to avoid prolonged or strenuous outdoor activity during this advisory. Open burning is prohibited by air quality rule. It is also recommended that all other individuals limit prolonged or strenuous activity outdoors.
