Daily and temporary road closures on the Seafoam Road
SALMON, Idaho (KIFI) - The Forest Service has been able to secure more than $12 million in funding to improve road conditions and access to public land over the next two years.
A portion of the funding comes from the Great American Outdoors Act In 2023, on the Seafoam/Beaver Creek Road #008, the project will have DAILY CLOSURES starting July 26, 2023 until September 7, 2023 from 9:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday – Friday. There will be a FULL ROAD CLOSURE for three days starting August 7, 8, and 9, 2023.
The work will reshape the road, clean ditches of debris including soils, downed timber and trees. Several culverts will be replaced, and some will be slightly larger to better accommodate runoff in the area which has been impacted by wildfire. In some locations once the road becomes a narrow single lane roadway, curves will be widened to provide better sight distance, as well as more locations where vehicles can pull over to let other vehicles pass by.
The Road Closure Order #04-13-23-08 is described as follows:
