Young Americans motivated to make change: AP-NORC, MTV poll

WASHINGTON (AP) — A new poll shows that millennials and Generation Z Americans say they are more likely to be optimistic about the future and their ability to create change, compared with the older Generation X. The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll finds that despite the challenges facing younger generations, including the coronavirus pandemic, 66% of Gen Z — ages 13 through 24 — think their generation is motivated to make positive change, as do 63% of millennials, ages 25 to 40. That’s compared with 56% of Gen X Americans, the 41- to 56-year-old age group. The poll finds that many Gen Z and millennials support progressive policies aimed at race, class and gender disparities.
