LAS VEGAS (AP) — An employee has testified that she thought she might die when a Las Vegas police officer allegedly robbed the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino. She said Tuesday the robber told her he had a gun and the casino’s cash wasn’t worth losing her life over. Caleb Rogers’ trial started Monday and is expected to last through the end of the week. Federal prosecutors are expected to paint him as a man with a gambling addiction who stole nearly $165,000 from three casinos off the Las Vegas Strip. He was arrested after the robbery at the Rio in February 2022. Rogers’ lawyer said in his opening statement that the government’s evidence is weak.
