3 things to know this morning – September 29, 2023

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) - Here's what you should know to start your Friday.

1. A preliminary injunction hearing was held after the Bingham County Republican Central Committee filed a lawsuit against the Idaho GOP's office for disqualifying its election for a new chairman.  Defending attorney Bryan Smith for the state party argued that the county party broke the rules of the election while Bingham County Republicans say the state party is using "bully tactics." Judge Darren Simpson says he will make a ruling before the end of next week.

2. Big changes are coming to the Idaho Falls Regional Airport. The parking lot is getting a massive upgrade with new routing and technology, like being able to pay through your phone. There will also be some form of terminal expansion coming next year.

3. After being overwhelmed with dogs, the Blackfoot Animal Shelter posted on its Facebook page that it has gone from 60 dogs down to 35, thanks to community support. However, there are still more set to be put down. If you are interested in adopting or donating supplies, contact the animal shelter.
