Vallow/Daybell July trial vacated
FREMONT COUNTY, Idaho (KIFI) - Judge Steven Boyce granted a motion Wednesday to vacate Lori Vallow-Daybell and Chad Daybell's July trial.
You can watch the status conference below.
John Prior said he had about 30 more items he'd need to discuss with Rob Wood and Rachel Smith. He said he doesn't know how long that process will take or what it will involve, but he said he'd clearly need more time, suggesting at least October or November.
Mark Means said he had no objection to Prior's suggested timeline.
Judge Boyce scheduled a motion for change of trial venue for June 9 at 9 a.m. He said he'd also hear other motions on that day.
New trial dates have not yet been set.
Judge Boyce said his trial calendar is packed through the fall because jury trials are just starting back up and some cases may take priority over this case depending on many different factors.
Vallow-Daybell is currently being held on a $1 million bond on two felony counts of conspiracy to alter or destroy evidence in connection with the deaths of her two children.
Daybell is also being held on a $1 million bond and is charged with concealing evidence by destroying or hiding the bodies of 7-year-old Joshua "JJ" Vallow and 17-year-old Tylee Ryan at his eastern Idaho home. Investigators found their remains during a search in June, months after the kids were last seen in September.
