Justin Rose selected to receive Payne Stewart Award
PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Justin Rose is this year’s winner of the Payne Stewart Award. It has become one of premier awards on the PGA Tour that recognizes character, sportsmanship and commitment to charity. The award is named for the three-time major champion who died in a plane accident in 1999. Along with being a U.S. Open champion and Olympic gold medalist, Rose and his wife have a foundation that feeds hungry children. He also started a golf series for women whose tours shut down in Europe during the pandemic. Rose will receive the award during the week of the Tour Championship in Atlanta.
