Russians sweep 1st World Cup skeleton race of season
IGLS, Austria (AP) — A pair of Russian sliders opened this Olympic season with victories in World Cup skeleton races. Alexander Tretiakov and Elena Nikitina both rallied in the second heat of the two-run competitions to take their wins. It was a difficult day for the U.S. Kelly Curtis’ ninth-place finish was the top showing by an American. It was just the second World Cup start of Curtis’ career.
