Raptors’ early fireworks spoil Independence Day for Chukars in 23-10 defeat

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) - The Idaho Falls Chukars trailed the Ogden Raptors immediately on the Fourth of July Monday, and Ogden never looked back in a 23-10 defeat of the Chuks.

The big inning provided the large majority of the Raptors' offense. Ogden scored six runs in the first and fifth innings, and exploded for 10 runs in the top of the sixth inning.

Incredibly, that burst of runs was fueled by three grand slams knocked out of the park by Brian Dansereau, Josh Broughton and Andrew Noviello.

The Chukars can bounce back quickly Tuesday night when they begin a six-game set at Melaleuca Field against the Great Falls Voyagers with first pitch at 7:05 p.m.
