Bandits dominate Cowboys, then get blown out in doubleheader split at Twin Falls

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) - For the second day in a row, the Idaho Falls Bandits battled a solid American Legion opponent, and also on consecutive days, the Bandits picked up the split, winning game 1 6-1 while dropping game 2 11-1.

Timely hitting in the early innings and a Merit Jones gem on the mound catapulted Idaho Falls to a game 1 victory. Davin Luce tallied four hits, including a two-run single in the second inning, while Jones tossed a complete game, striking out 11 Twin Falls Cowboys.

However, two big inning by Twin Falls would punish the Bandits in game 2. The Cowboys scored seven runs in the third inning, then tallied four more in the sixth inning to end the game.

Next up, the Bandits will compete in the district tournament, as they try to pull off a three-peat.
