Another wild slugfest goes the way of the Chukars in 10-8 victory over Hawks in Highway Series
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) - The Idaho Falls Chukars have taken a huge 10-4 lead in the Highway Series, and they extended that advantage Wednesday night in a 10-8 win at Melaleuca Field.
It was another slugfest in the second game of the mid-week series, and similarly to the first contest, the Chuks came out of the early innings with a solid lead at 6-2.
And much like that first contest, after Idaho Falls took the lead, it would not give it up, even when Boise closed within one in the 7th inning. But the Chukars held on for the two-run win.
Next up, the Chukars wrap up the three-game homestead Thursday night against the Hawks before traveling to Boise for three more games this weekend.
With a big lead in the Highway Series, Idaho Falls sits just three wins away from clinching its first Traffic Cone Trophy in the second year of the rivalry.
