IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI)- A warm Memorial Day weekend lies ahead with temperatures rising into the 70's and 80's. Isolated shower chances could shuffle through the area, but nothing that should disrupt any outdoor plans. A shift in weather patterns is expected mid-week, bringing cooler temperatures and daily rain chances.

A breezy evening for Saturday night with winds from the southwest 7 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. The overnight low will be near 47 under mostly cloudy skies.

On Sunday, precipitation chances will increase slightly highlighted by a 30 percent chance for showers and thunderstorms south of the Snake River, primarily near the Utah and Wyoming borders. The central mountains and eastern highlands will see a 10 to 30 percent chance on Sunday. The primary focus of the isolated activity will shift to the central mountains on Monday.

For the Snake River Plain, Sunday will see highs in the low 80's with some breezes from the southwest. Gusts could reach 25 mph. A mostly cloudy morning should gradually clear up for a sunny day. Partly cloudy at night with the overnight low around 47.

Memorial Day itself should be the warmest day of the holiday stretch. The highs will reach the mid to upper 80's under sunny skies. More breezy conditions with winds from the southwest 8-13 mph. There could be gusts reaching 23 mph. The low Monday night will be near 50.

A closed low pressure system is expected to move in in Tuesday. The system should stick around for several days. This will bring a cooling trend and daily chances of showers and thunderstorms for the rest of the week.
